If we talk about the term magnet fishing itself, it is as simple as its name. It simply means fishing using some megnets. Yes! It really means fishing with magnets but with a little twist. But still the name itself is quite amazing, magnet fishing.

Has it ever happened to you that you have dropped some metallic object or keys into a drain or a water body and then you tried to get that thing back by using a rope and a magnet. If yes, then you have definitely done magnet fishing. Yes! You heard it right, this literally is the magnet fishing. It basically refers to the process in which you tie a rope onto a magnet and just throw it into a water. The magnet sticks to any metallic object in the water and then you pull it upwards.

Now, it has become quite popular hobby and many people try to do treasure hunting in water bodies using this amazing technique. The word fishing is given to this because the process is very much similar to the fishing process in which you tie a bait with a rope and then you just wait for the fish to get attached with the bait and you pull it outwards of the water. Exactly same is the case with magnet fishing with just the difference that the bait is changed by a powerful magnet and the fish is replaced by any metallic object in the water.

One may wonder that what can he catch using this technique, then I would rather say that you can indeed catch anything that contains iron in it. It can probably be a safe, nuts, screws, bicycles, tools and many other metallic objects.

Gear needed for fishing with magnets

What I would say is that if you are planning to go for magnet fishing, you will probably not require a lot of gear and gadgets. Indeed very less equipment is required to get you started. If we talk about the most basic equipment that are required for your magnet fishing experience, then this would include these.

  • Magnet
  • Rope
  • Gloves
  • Magnet storage

So, these were some of the basic things that are required to make your magnet fishing experience amazing.

Magnet

This is indeed the most important thing that is required if you want to go for magnet fishing. These magnets are neodymium magnets and further have two types. First is the single sided magnet whereas the other is the double sided magnet. Also, these magnets come in various powers, these can vary in their pulling forces ranging from 200 to 1000 pounds.

Rope

After having the magnet, next important thing to have is a rope and the rope should be quite hard and unbreakable. What I would prefer is that the nylon ropes are best for this purpose.

Gloves

These are also a part for magnet fishing because this magnet fishing basically involves handling a lot of rusty metal. So as a basic equipment, these are necessary to have.

Magnet storage

Although this is not a must object to have but still, I would prefer to carry this as well. As the name indicates, it is a storage that basically stores the magnet inside it. Think of having a quite powerful magnet and on your way to water body, the magnet sticking to every metallic object that it encounters including the car and other objects. So for this purpose these magnet storage is a good equipment to carry along with.

This megnets is made from neodymium and this material is very rare and is extremely suitable for making permanent magnets.

Brute magnetics neodymium magnet

These are also amazing fishing magnets and are known to provide 800lbs of pulling force. Quite impressive right!. In these magnets, you do not have to worry about the orientation of the magnets. Further, these magnets are also made form neodymium material and are further coated by nickel-copper. This coated steel basically provides protection and enhances the durability of the magnet.

Mutuactor Fishing Magnet
